Our beliefs

God

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three Persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God. One who is Holy and Just, and Loving and Compassionate. His desire is to live in a close relationship with all people.

Jesus

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless human life and offered himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to heaven's glory and will return again to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Through Him, and Him alone, can people enter into a relationship with God.

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. We believe in the present operation of His gifts to build up the Church and empower its members for worship, service and mission.

Baptism and the Lord's Supper

Baptism and the Lord's Supper have been given to the churches by Christ as visible signs of the gospel. Baptism is a symbol of union with Christ but does not impart spiritual life. The Lord's Supper is a commemoration of Christ's sacrifice offered once for all and involves no change in the bread and wine. All its blessings are received by faith.

The Human Race

Man is made in the image of God, to be like him in character. He is the supreme object of God’s creation. Although man has tremendous potential for good, he is marred by his acts of disobedience toward God called “sin.” This disobedience has separated him from God.

Salvation

Salvation is entirely a work of God's Grace and cannot be earned or deserved. It has been accomplished by the Lord Jesus Christ and is offered to all. God, in His love, forgives sinners who accept Christ's offer of forgiveness of sin, granting them repentance and faith. All who believe in Christ are justified by faith alone, adopted into the family of God and receive eternal life.

The Great Commission

We believe that the gospel embraces the needs of the whole man and that the Church is therefore commissioned to preach the gospel to the world and to fulfil a ministry of healing and deliverance to the spiritual and physical needs of mankind.

The Bible

We believe that the Bible is the Word of God. Through it, God reveals Himself to us. The entire Bible is God-breathed and God-inspired and therefore without error. The Old and New Testaments speak with final authority and are always sufficient for all matters of belief and practice.

The Church

We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in Christ (regardless of religious denomination) and that The Church, be it a local congregation or the worldwide fellowship of believers, is the Body of Christ. As His Body, we are called to worship with Him, serve Him, and be the instrument through which the Good News in its fullness is shared with the world.

The Future

The Lord Jesus Christ will return in glory. He will raise the dead, both the saved and the lost, the one to everlasting life and the other to eternal separation from God. This final judgement will be determined by their relationship to Jesus Christ.
